She completed her graduate internship at Center for Change and came on board as a therapist for over two years, treating adults and adolescents dealing with eating disorders, trauma, and other co-occurring disorders through individual and group therapy.

Jess joined Balance Health & Healing in 2024, as a hybrid therapist, working with clients on an individual and family basis and facilitating Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy within the clinic. She utilizes a variety of treatment modalities with an emphasis on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

 Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Experiential

A key component of KAP includes the experience of a non-ordinary state of consciousness (NOSC), a highly novel sensory state that can be both exciting and anxiety-provoking. Anecdotal evidence suggests that both referring and treating clinicians benefit from having experience with NOSC to support effective treatment outcomes and strengthen harm reduction efforts.

Although not necessary, an experiential training with the medicine ketamine in the context of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, can facilitate a clinician’s ability to help clients navigate novel experiences, manage expectations, and tolerate a wide range of emotional responses a NOSC may elicit.
